Modern Slavery Act Statement
At ProQuest LLC, we are citizens of the world and understand our responsibility within it. We do not tolerate modern slavery or human trafficking in our organization or in our supply chain. In compliance with the Modern Slavery Act, we take steps to ensure there is no modern slavery in our own organization and that of our supply chain. As an information management company, we use very little unskilled labor, so the risks of modern slavery are minimal compared to other industries. Nevertheless, we take such obligations seriously, as evidenced by the following measures.
In support of our mission and values, all employees are required to comply with an extensive Code of Conduct that specifically ensures we recognize the laws and regulations that establish requirements for corporate integrity. In addition, all employees regularly receive "respectful workplace" training to ensure that all workers are treated with dignity and respect, and can perform their work duties free from harassment or oppression.
Moreover, ProQuest explicitly requires compliance, of its employees, contractors, and vendors, with both the letter and spirit of all applicable laws regulating conduct and trade in each country where we conduct business. We therefore maintain standard reporting channels for any concerns about such compliance and have also established an anonymous “Ethics Watch” communications mechanism for employees to enable the full and fair reporting of any concerns anywhere in the world. Our legal and human resources teams are responsible for compliance responses to concerns raised through that reporting mechanism.
虽然我们有信心,有一个低风险的modern slavery or human trafficking taking place within our direct organization given our internal policies and processes as well as the skill level of employees we retain, we will continue to emphasize with our existing suppliers, reminding them of our values and ethical standards, and reiterate the expectations we have when working with them. Further, we will endeavor to monitor potential risk areas within our supply chains.
This statement has been approved by the ProQuest LLC board of directors pursuant to section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and constitutes our modern slavery and human trafficking statement for the financial year ending 31 December, 2021.
